The V&A specialises in all aspects of design and their shop sells a wide range of books, reproductions, gifts, fashion, and jewellery related to the items exhibited in the museum. Cabinet UK were tasked with the job of creating a brand new online store for the Victoria and Albert Museum. Our solution had to be elegant and stylish, conform to V&A branding guidelines, easy to use, easy to update by non -technical staff and future proofed for expansion. Working together with the Victoria and Albert Museum, Cabinet designed a shop which matched their all of their business requirements, with some special features, such as rotating textures and colour schemes that can be set to coincide with current exhibitions and product promotions. Moreover the V&A wanted the online store to be live for the International Arts and Crafts exhibition on the 17th March, 2005 just two and a half months after Cabinet were awarded the contract.
